In this role you will architect and lead advanced medical imaging software solutions, focusing on embedded real-time control across CT, X-ray and other modalities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to design scalable, reliable software for regulated, safety-critical applications. You drive architecture decisions, guide development teams, and ensure high-quality delivery for internal and external customers. This position offers impact by shaping software for life-saving imaging technology and on-site customer collaboration. You will work at Spellman HQ in Hauppauge, NY and contribute to R&D of next-generation imaging solutions.

Responsibilites
- Design scalable, reliable large-scale software systems.
- Lead embedded real-time software architecture for medical imaging applications.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to capture requirements and translate them into architectures.
- Guide development of GUI/HMI interfaces and specialized protocols for system controllers.
- Establish reusable parameterized module libraries and maintain software via version control and testing.
- Perform software verification, testing, and documentation; support change management.
- Stay current with new technologies and contribute to R&D for new products.
- Interface with analog engineers, project leaders, and manufacturing to ensure successful deliveries.
Key requirements
- 15+ years of software architecture development for medical and industrial imaging
- Expert in software development, design, and verification for highly regulated applications
- Embedded software engineering experience with FPGA configuration and programming
- Proficient in C++, C, and C#; able to develop GUI/HMI for operators
- Experience with Windows and Linux environments; web development for embedded systems
- Familiarity with V-model and Agile methodologies; unit/regression testing and test automation
- Travel up to 30% to customer sites; strong communication and documentation skills
- Strong analytical and collaborative skills; ability to lead teams and projects
