As a Sr. Engineer in Pasco County Public Works, you drive transportation engineering projects across design, maintenance, and safety programs. You will oversee engineers and consultants, develop road and bridge maintenance plans, and support policy development for infrastructure management. Your work safeguards performance and reliability of the transport network while collaborating with contractors and agencies. Tasks
- Oversee design, analysis, and project management for transportation systems and programs
- Maintain and enhance the pavement management system and related maintenance strategies
- Review plans, calculations, and cost estimates for accuracy and compliance with standards
- Develop maintenance plans for roads, bridges, and traffic control devices
- Coordinate with contractors, utilities, and government agencies on plans and schedules
- Prepare data for public meetings and assist citizen groups when requested
- Provide technical guidance to staff and consultants; manage records and reports
- Support operational improvements to restore and sustain transportation system performance
Key requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Six years in a supervisory engineering role involving roadways and bridges design, construction, or maintenance
- Four years of professional engineer experience (PE)
- Project management experience
- Public sector experience
- Valid Florida driver's license
- PE license in the State of Florida (or eligible for reciprocity within one year)
