Senior Specialist / Project Manager

In this role you lead multi-disciplinary teams on thermal generation projects across North America, supporting Owner’s Engineer or detailed engineering/design scopes for simple cycle, combined cycle, and repowering efforts. You drive project objectives, risk management, and cross-functional alignment while acting as a seller-doer to aid business development. You collaborate with clients, regulators, and subcontractors to deliver impactful energy projects and advance the company’s energy transition goals.

Responsibilites

  • Provide project management expertise to the team
  • Manage energy projects/programs
  • Support and contribute to PM best practices and methodologies
  • Coordinate with leadership, discipline leads, and cross-functional teams
  • Ensure alignment and consistency of project execution
  • Enhance client satisfaction through a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Support client relationship management through coaching and mentoring
  • Maintain discipline in resources, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Identify and resolve execution gaps with leadership
  • Provide feedback and lessons learned for continuous improvement
  • Support leadership in resource management, recruitment, and mentoring PMs and Project Leaders
  • Lead or support proposals as needed
  • Mentor junior staff
  • Achieve annual utilization targets

Key requirements

  • Engineering design and construction experience with power plant projects
  • PM expertise including team leadership, scheduling, project controls, reporting, and document controls
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Experience with delivery models such as EPC, DBB, and ECI
  • Knowledge of multi-discipline energy project services
  • Business development, proposal, and budget development experience
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies
  • Strong organizational skills across multiple offices and geographies
  • Problem-solving abilities to identify and address project deviations
  • Ability to travel to US and Canadian offices and client sites
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Teams/SharePoint); advanced Excel beneficial
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Drug and alcohol screen may be required before employment
  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering; 15+ years of power generation experience; 5+ years in business development or seller-doer; PE registration preferred
