As Operational Controller, you ensure safe, efficient operation of Nadara’s UK wind assets through controlled access, asset handover, and performance monitoring. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to uphold Wind Turbine Safety Rules and coordinate with grid operators, contributing to reliable energy generation. You’ll monitor asset performance, respond to faults, and drive continuous improvement in control centre processes. This role offers exposure to wider European operations as the control centre expands and you help deliver decarbonisation at scale.

Responsibilites

Manage site access and work control, ensuring visitors are booked and briefed; confirm authorised personnel for all site activities
Maintain induction records and implement emergency response procedures
Serve as Operational Controller under Wind Turbine Safety Rules; oversee day-to-day wind farm operations with Asset Managers
Interface with National Grid and grid operators regarding outages and curtailments
Monitor wind farms using SCADA systems; respond to faults and alarms; issue weather-based alerts
Contribute to daily/weekly/monthly performance reports and validate energy export data
Handle health, safety near-miss reporting and incident escalation; manage emergency calls
Log Engineering Change Requests to prevent unauthorised plant modifications; adhere to control centre procedures
Participate in continuous improvement of control centre services and performance analysis

Key requirements

Technical discipline qualification is advantageous but not essential
Experience in engineering or renewable energy preferred but not required
Telephone handling experience with high-volume calls
Experience in a procedure-driven environment
Strong numeracy and excellent written/verbal communication
IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn bespoke software
