Experteer Overview
In this role you support the SCE data center consolidation and AFPEDC initiatives, delivering on-site and remote engineering for virtual infrastructure, storage, and backup systems. You’ll work with AFLCMC/HNI and cross-functional teams to test, implement, and sustain solutions while ensuring security and RMF compliance. The position emphasizes architecture design, performance assessment, and data migrations in a mission-critical DoD environment. You will shape the ongoing modernization of DoD data center capabilities and guide third-party collaborations.

Tasks
- Integrate new applications and coordinate design reviews with application teams
- Document as-built changes and support system expansion planning
- Migrate existing SCE/AFPEDC apps to other platforms as required
- Provide VMware, Cisco UCS, SAN, Commvault, and architecture support for data center consolidation
- Perform IA assessment and remediation and monitor system performance
- Support PMO onboarding of new applications and review contractor submittals
- Generate and test TCTOs for site-wide changes
- Travel domestically for site visits and deployments
- Lead and mentor field operations SMEs and report performance/technical status
- Ensure compliance with DoD, Air Force, and industry security standards
Key requirements
- Experience with DoD information networks and Air Force procedures (AFIN)
- IA Technician (IAT) Level II certification
- Current SECRET (or higher) security clearance
- 7–10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combined with a related degree
- Extensive storage, virtualization, and data center experience (Dell/EMC SAN, VMware, Commvault, EMC Data Domain)
- Experience with Cisco UCS, SAN, NCIE NetApp SAN, Brocade, and Cisco networking in virtual environments
- Proven leadership and subcontractor/vendor management abilities
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in mission-critical environments
