Senior Specialist / Project Manager

In this role you will conduct hands-on field trials across agricultural, horticultural, and amenity sectors, building data-driven evidence to support safe, high‑quality products and practices. You’ll set up plots, apply products, collect and analyse real-world data, and report findings as part of SGS’s global agricultural research network. The position combines fieldwork with collaboration to improve trial methods and outcomes. You will work outdoors with a supportive technical team and have room for training and progression.

Responsibilites

Setting up and maintaining field trials on farms and trial sites
Safely preparing and applying products in line with trial protocols
Collecting, recording and analysing trial data using specialist software
Working independently in the field, with support from an experienced Trials Manager
Building positive relationships with growers, clients and colleagues

Key requirements

A degree (or equivalent experience) in Agriculture, Crop Science or a related life science
Genuine interest in field-based research and agriculture
Strong organisational skills and confidence working independently
A full UK driving licence
