We are seeking to appoint a substantive Consultant Gastroenterologist, based at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby. This is a post to join our existing gastroenterology team to enable reconfiguration as well as a commitment to General Medicine.The purpose built three theatre Endoscopy Suite was opened in 2005 and provides facilities for all Gastrointestinal Endoscopy procedures other than ERCP which is carried out in the Department of Radiology. Sessions are also provided for bronchoscopy and cystoscopy within the unit, as well as full out-patient and in-patient services. We have an excellent modern Development and Education Centre with extensive facilities. The opening of the Hull York Medical School has brought an increase in the number students being taught within the Department and the expansion of consultant numbers is also in response to this. The successful candidate will be expected to take a full part in the teaching of medical students. The hospital is situated adjacent to an area of outstanding natural beauty and has excellent primary and secondary schools. There are excellent communication links to the rest of the UK. ...
