Reporting into the Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Calcination area, this role is the primary 'boots on ground'. You will ensure that agreed reliability, AM/PM plans, and strategies are effectively undertaken and delivered, liaising with Production, Quality, Operations, and Contractors.
A significant portion of your role will be ensuring Preventative Measures tasks are completed safely and closed out to a high standard, on time as well as being a significant contributor to the regular shutdowns within the calcination areas, alongside the Maintenance Team Engineer and the Maintenance Operations Manager.
What you'll do:
* Manage PM (Preventative Measures) inspection workflow.
* Assist with the management of maintenance shutdowns.
* Recycle PM tasks (from Step 1, daily inspections), and accelerate PM program.
* Validate CBM, OTR findings and plan for maintenance shutdowns.
* Completion of scoping documents for major maintenance.
* Work package quality compliance.
* Carry out Step 0 cost analysis in conjunction with the Reliability manager.
* Conduit between AM & PM (AM/PM calendar, Machine ledger, AMPM visual management, audits).
* To issue correct permits when required for tasks to be carried out in the area and ensure correct isolations are in place.
* To support in the planning of, then execute and supervise all Planned Shutdowns ensuring adherence to shutdown KPIs.
* To carry out risk assessments & write method statements & record near-miss incidents.
* To manage shutdown contractors working on routine & non-routine tasks.
* Ensure all PM SAP work orders are completed to a high standard.
* To actively improve Machine efficiency (ME) and BP (Board Quality).
* Liaise with the CBM Engineer to assist in monitoring and improving the performance of the plant.
* Participate in any activity as requested relating to improving the work area.
* You will manage AM/PM program outputs. This will include Tag register, Machine Ledger, AM & PM Calendars, Inspection routines, SOP, and other supporting tasks.
What you'll bring:
* Previous frontline maintenance experience within a continuous process manufacturing facility.
* Knowledge of PPM and continuous improvement techniques.
* Experience in planning in an FMCG environment.
* NVQ Level 4 Engineering.
* GCSE grade A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent).
* Mechanical; design, fitting, installation, pneumatics, hydraulics, material flow equipment experience.
* Experience in Contractor Management.
* Safety Qualification - IOSH Managing Safely.
* Project management skills.
* SAP PM, MS Projects, 5S, and AM/PM 7.
* Permit Training Qualification.
* You must be an excellent communicator, involving and listening to our customers and ensuring up-to-date and consistent information is fed back with transparency.
